In partnership with local schools and districts, HERC manages a large collection of circulating resources and offers online subscriptions to high quality digital resources to support student learning. HERC staff assist patrons with selections and the HERC courier transports materials to and from most school sites on a weekly basis.

We offer two academic databases for student research featuring high quality informational content, citation support and seamless alignment with Google and NoodleTools; Elementary in Context (K-5) and Middle School in Context (6-12).

Our newest digital resource is a research management platform where students can build accurate bibliographies, organize notes, outline topics, and begin the writing process. Teachers can provide direct feedback and monitor group work. Recommended for grades 3 and up.

Encyclopedia Britannica School

Encyclopedia Britannica is the publisher known for the classic reference compendium of summary informational articles on a wide range of subjects. This online library database from Britannica is aimed at the digital classroom. The entries are in English and specially designed at different reading levels, allowing students to move easily to material of higher or lower comprehension levels as needed for K-6, middle school and high school: Levels 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
