GALE Student Research Databases
Looking for high quality, vetted nonfiction content that you and your students can use for research, current events or literacy development? Check out these two Google-friendly research databases that are loaded with standards-aligned resources, giving students the information literacy skills needed for true college readiness.
Kid InfoBits is designed for students and teachers in grades K-5, and Research in Context for grades 6-12. Students can browse or search for topics, collect and annotate articles, and access citation tools easily. Teachers can locate timely and authoritative reading selections for close reading activities and more. These databases also work seamlessly with Google Drive and Classroom, meaning they are excellent for both whole class instruction and personalized learning.

Although the HERC facility is closed to the public, we continue to take orders over the phone and through email. Please contact us if you’d like to reserve materials or make a purchase from our Teacher Center, and we will schedule a time for your visit.
Although die cutting is not available at this time, we may be able to pull other supplies (butcher paper, borders, name tags, etc.) if you call us ahead of time.
HERC accepts cash, check, or an approved school charge account (you may want to verify your organization is approved for 2020-21 before stopping by).
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we adapt to the times, and look forward to seeing you soon. Please contact us at 707-445-7074 or herc@hcoe.org.
