This conference is an opportunity for early childhood educators/administrators who work with children ages 3-6 to gather and learn more about strategies to support Inclusive learning, the importance of play, integrated learning, honoring culture, social emotional development, and trauma informed care.

Dr. Julie Nicholson
Celebrating Humboldt County’s Launch of UPK: Play Powered Learning to Promote Joy, Equity, Engagement, and Resilience.

Dr. Nicholson will guide us in a celebration of this important moment for young children, families and the workforce serving them as UPK officially launches for Humboldt County. Weaving together
authentic stories, contemporary research and windows into high quality early learning environments, she will inspire all of us to see our collective opportunity and responsibility to create inclusive, engaging, equitable and healing environments for our county’s young learners.

The Evolution of Inclusion

In this session, we will look at understanding how the goals of inclusion have shifted and evolved, as we learn more about diversity, identity, and equity. Participants will reflect on early childhood settings and consider next steps for advocacy, action and moving forward.

Registration Fees:

Fees includes meals and materials. Scholarships are available to students and early childhood educators not connected to a school district (just click on “grant funded” and enter “scholarship”).

  • Keynote Streaming Option*: $50

*This option allows you to view a livestream of the keynote speakers for both Friday and Saturday ONLY. Keynotes will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
