“Brown Bag” lunchtime webinars with KQED: The PBS station in San Francisco has a new, online platform for educational media called PBS LearningMedia, which is free for every teacher in California. PBS LearningMedia has content for all K-12 subject areas that is made for classroom use and aligned with statewide content standards. In a three-part series, media educators from KQED will present a training on maximizing the potential of PBS LearningMedia for Arts Learning in visual, performing and digital arts. Explore open educational media resources that meet Performing Arts standards. This webinar will build on the previous week’s session, but will focus on the performing arts and arts integration. Discover videos and games produced for a student audience that explain concepts and techniques in music, theater and dance. You will also preview resources for integrated learning, including media collections that addresses both performing arts and social studies content standards. PBS Learning Media content demonstrates real world examples of careers in the performing arts and provides video lessons that students can follow along with.
