Classroom Tools for Integrating Diverse Media

Many teachers are having difficulty with standard 7 because their curriculum text doesn’t include multimedia versions. In this webinar, Dr. Hall will demonstrate how to use video and text of key president’s speeches to show students the difference between experiencing the speech in video and reading the words. She will also model the same process using literary text. Through using a graphic organizer to guide observations, students will be led to see the advantages and disadvantages of alternate media forms. Students are surprised to discover that video is different, yet not better in all aspects. Participants will receive a graphic organizer and a list of ideas for informational and literary text where multimedia is widely available.
