Special Education Bridge Authorization Training 2024
Effective July 1, 2022, all Education Specialist credentials were updated with new authorizations by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). There are new bridge authorizations which will allow individual credential holders with the previous Education Specialist credential to earn the full breadth of the new authorizations in order to cover more disability areas.
HCOE & Humboldt/Del Norte SELPA will be offering a no-cost professional development opportunity to educators who are interested in applying for the bridge document. Participants who complete the training will be eligible to apply for the bridge document. The Bridge Authorization is an added authorization that is an option for special education credential holders whose credential was issued prior to the new standards and is intended to result in these credential holders having authorizations that are equivalent in scope to the new updated authorization areas.
Please note: These trainings are intended for Humboldt and Del Norte County educators only.
This training will include both the Mild/Moderate Support Needs Bridge and the Extensive Supports Bridge.
*Please note: Educators who hold a credential authorizing special education instruction that was issued under older standards and does not include the autism preparation must also hold the added authorization in autism spectrum disorders to be considered equivalent.
