Neurodevelopmental Trauma: When the Bough Breaks

Online Event: Held every Wednesday (September 13, 20, and 27)

12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

This webinar series is for juvenile court stakeholders which focuses on the impact of pre-and-postnatal trauma exposure impacting the way in which a new brain organizes and develops. Trauma histories are strongly associated with youth with conduct problems whose ‘visible’ behaviors may consequently include impulsivity, chronic truancy, use of violence, risk-taking, substance abuse, emotional blunting, and a pattern of engagement that demonstrates a disregard for the rights of others. The persistence of maladaptive brain functions leaves many families struggling to fit and belong. For more information, click here.

This event is sponsored by the Judicial Council of California, Center for Families, Children & the Courts, with the support of a grant awarded by the California Department of Social Services.
