Improving Data for Better Teaching Assignment Outcomes
Are you looking to improve the data that your LEA is submitting through CALPADS each year to better inform the Assignment Monitoring process, the Teacher Assignment Monitoring Outcomes reports and Accountability reporting? This workshop features staff from the California Department of Education (CDE) and will provide Curriculum & Instruction, HR/Credentialing staff, and Accountability administrators with an in-depth understanding of their roles in developing and reporting these important data about assignments and education shortages.
Topics include how teacher assignment data is collected in CALPADS; how that data informs CalSAAS and the assignment monitoring process; and how ESSA’s teacher equity definitions affect this data reporting for accountability (Dashboard, SARC, Williams, and LCAP Federal Addendum). This workshop is specifically designed to bridge gaps in understanding for everyone who has a role in collecting, reviewing and reporting this complex data, from the technical aspects to effectively communicating the meaning of this data to educational partners.
CDE encourages each district, charter organization, and county office education program to send a full team of the staff whose expertise is needed for this work: Curriculum and Instruction (including EL and Special Ed experts), Human Resources/Credential Analyst staff, and CALPADS administrator or specialists to attend the training together.
