Building on the Foundations of Racial Equity workshops offered in 2021, this 3-part series will first review core concepts, such as implicit bias and the dimensions of racism. On Day 2, we’ll support you in beginning to develop a land acknowledgment and/or equity statement for your classroom, school, or childcare setting. On Day 3, we’ll talk about and practice using equity tools to evaluate some of the books you are using in your work with children. Sessions are conversation-based and interactive and provide room for small and large group work, discussions, and personal reflection. All are welcome -you need not have attended the 2021 workshops to participate, although the knowledge you gained in those workshops will be helpful in this one. We encourage you to bring your experiences and questions so we can all learn from each other!
