The Arcata Arts Institute (AAI) would like to extend an invitation to our Demonstration Day on February 7th.

Come and learn how we created a school for advanced arts study inside of a small, rural, public high school. AAI is one of the four AME-CTE Demonstration sites designated by the California Department of Education to showcase it’s curriculum and structure. We will talk about how and what we do both within and outside of the school day. Our students will share their experiences with you, along with our community partners, artist experts, and our faculty. We have an exciting day of tours, panels, entertainment, and great food planned for you.

The day will end with our highly successful Family Art Night where you will be able to see first-hand how we demonstrate to our associate school teachers, and families, with fun ways to integrate art into all the core subject areas.

The Demonstration Day will feature:
• Assessment tools
• Funding
• Instructional strategies
• Panel of students who are eager to discuss the fields they work in and their chosen media.
• A panel of local professionals working with our students (Guest Artists/professionals)
• Discussion of the role of community relationships/partnerships (local business connections, artists, galleries)
• Staffing for AME-­‐CTE programs
