ROOTED IN WELLNESS – JOIN US FOR A DAY OF LAUGHTER, FUN & WELLNESS
YOUTH 14+ WELCOME
The inaugural Redwood Coast Mental Health Symposium – Rooted in Wellness will take place at Humboldt County Office of Education on May 11th from 8:30 AM-5 PM for those aged 14 and up. Registration is open!
This event aims to empower resiliency in both youth and adults through a combination of interactive workshops, cultural experiences, and lighthearted activities. By blending humor and play with important topics such as mental health awareness and social emotional skills, we hope to create a welcoming space where participants can learn, grow, and connect with our community.
Highlights of the event include:
-
Hear youths’ perceptions of current mental health challenges
-
Engaging workshops on social emotional learning techniques
- Cultural showcases celebrating our local heritage
- Comedy and improv sessions to destigmatize mental health challenges
-
Networking opportunities with like-minded individuals and community leaders
-
Find out about local resources to support mental health
- Refreshments and snacks to keep the energy high throughout the day
This event will also feature The Trevor Project’s LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention & Sensitivity Training, CARE (Connect, Accept, Respond, Empower), which empowers adults with an overview of suicide among LGBTQ youth and the different environmental stressors that contribute to their heightened risk for suicide.
Come join us for a day filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful conversations. Let’s work together to build resilience, promote mental well-being, and celebrate the rich diversity of our community.
