ASIST

The emphasis of ASIST is on helping a person at risk stay safe and seek further help. ASIST is a two-day intensive, interactive workshop on suicide first aid designed to help staff or counselors, those who will be intervening directly with students, to recognize risk, intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide, and link to resources.  ASIST provides practical training to

• Recognize invitations for help
•  Reach out and offer support
• Review the risk of suicide
• Apply a Suicide Intervention Model
• Link people with community resources

Continuing Education, No Additional Fee: This course meets the qualifications for 14.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFT’s and LCSW’s as required by the  California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Provider Number PCE 250, Department of Health and Human Services. Provider approved by the California Board of  Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP15353, for 14.0 contact hours.
