The CCSS offers us the great opportunity to include all children in a dynamic reading and writing community, giving them the chance to reach the highest levels of success. In order to do so, we need to provide more than disparate strategies for reading and writing; we need to truly commit to understanding culture, language, and levels in ways that will meet the needs of all our students. Pam Allyn will share both inspiration and practical advice on how we can be sure to not only include but celebrate and make central the diversity and potential of the English language learner as reader and writer.
