Expository Reading and Writing Course version 3.0 is now released!

We are offering a two-day Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC) 3.0 update session twice this fall:

August 1 & 2, 2019

at Humboldt County Office of Education in Eureka, CA.

or

October 15 & 24, 2019

at Humboldt County Office of Education in Eureka, CA.

Led by Nicolette Amann (HSU) and Amy Conley (Fortuna High School), these free professional development workshops are for teachers previously certified in ERWC only. You will be provided with the ERWC version 3.0 curriculum (many new modules!) and advanced tools for working with the new modules. We will cover topics such as:

•  teaching for transfer
• using literature to teach argument
• revising and customizing curriculum

Schools that adopt the ERWC 3.0 curriculum also qualify for partial reimbursement of sub and travel expenses for teachers attending the workshops. 11th and 12th grade adoption includes “ERWC” listing on student transcripts.

*Teachers new to ERWC will have the opportunity to take an introductory workshop series in early 2020.
