Computer Science Fundamentals Training for K-5 Educators
February 9, 2019
Brian Packham, Code.org facilitator, is coming back to the north coast for a second time! With the adoption of the new Computer Science Standards by the CA State Board of Education on September 6, 2018, providing computer science fundamentals to our K-5 students is more important than ever.
This training is FREE to Humboldt and Del Norte Educators.
How can you be prepared to guide your K-5 students toward STEM and Computer Science success? These trainings will be ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD), held at the DNCOE Instructional Media Center, 400 W Harding Ave, Crescent City, CA. There will be an hour lunch break where lunch is provided. After completion of the training, participants will leave with a certificate of completion, the Code.org curriculum for K-5 Computer Science, and a swag bag full of cool Code.org gifts. Once participants complete the survey regarding the training they attended, they will be sent a package of materials directly from Code.org filled with classroom supplies that will assist in implementing unplugged coding activities with students.
